Abstract

Changes of endogenous polyamines contents of leaves in Cymbidium ensifolium var.susin during low temperature stress were investigated at low temperature (5℃) and normal temperature. The results showed that during low temperature stress the totle polyamines (PAs),spermidine (Spd) and putrescine (Put) contents of leaves in Cymbidium ensifolium in growth period increased firstly and then decreaesed gradually, while spermine (Spm) content showed the tendency of decreasing then increasing to a higher content than before. As a result, the changes of the total endogenous polyamines contenst and different polyamines' proportion could help Cymbidium ensifolium to resist the physiological damage at low temperature, but due to the low temperature stress the lower Spd content restained the blooming of Cymbidium ensifolium.
