Abstract: The main type and characteristic of molecular markers are introduced. The application of molecular markers in the fields of ornamental plants such as genetic diversity, classification, origin, evolution, cultivar identification, determination of hybrid purity, construction of molecular genetic map, location and cloning of character genes and ornamental breeding are reviewed in this paper.
