Abstract: The test of excellent planting pattern for watermelon graft seedling at Xishuangbanna in Yunnan Province was conducted. The results showed that the yield increased by 30%, catface melons and hollow heart melons decreased by 60% and 99%, respectively, and the merchandise melons increased by 181% over the traditional pattern when treated with the same level of fertilizer and 1/3 of watering; but more labor input was taken when using this pattern (82% more than traditional pattern) and these can be solved by improving the management procedures.
