Abstract: Advances of research in breeding techniques of ornamental plants around the world in recent years are reviewed. Cross breeding and selection are still the major methods to breed new ornamental cultivars. With the progress in biotechnology, some new breeding methods including genetic engineering have become the focus of the ornamental plant breeding, and gained many researchs on varietal improvement.

摘要: 本文综述近年来国内外花卉育种技术及成果。常规育种仍是花卉育种的主要方法,但日益成熟的生物技术为花卉育种提供了新的途径,尤其是基因工程在改良花卉的色、香、形及延缓衰老等方面将发挥重要作用。
