Abstract: The present paper describes the ecological and biological characteristics of the folk medicinal plant ‘Yilihuang’ (Nereilia plicata),About 80 species of Nerrilia distribute in tropical and subtropical regions of eastern hemisphere,Six species occur in China,three of which are endemic to Taiwan;the rest native to Guangdong, Guangxi,Hainan and Yunnan provinces,Among them N.plicata is a new record from Tongan and Guankou of Xiamen,southeast Fujian, In our recent survey,it was found growing in the wide valley or along the stream on middle-lower part of the mountain slopes. However,these regions with rainy season,soil moisture are most favorable for growth of these plants.
