Studies on the Contents of Trace Elements in Productive Orchard Soil of the South Subtropical Zone in Fujian
Zhuang Yimei, Wang Renji, Xie Zhinan, Xu Wenbao
    1994, 23(01): 1-7.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (464KB) ( )
The analysis results of the soil of productive orchards in south subtropi cal zone of Fujian indicated that the status of trace element contents in citrus orchardsoil was generally good, while that of longan and litchi orchard soil was relatively unbalanced. The available contents of some trace elements (Mn,B,Cu,Mo) in the soil ofdifferent fruit species orchards or different site of orchards within the same fruit specieswere lower,When soil pH was 3.60~8.76, the regular correlations were found betweenpH values and available contents of most trace elements in soil;there were unsteadv correlations, however, between pH values and available contents of a few trace elements insoil. The preliminary studies suggest the values of the optimum ranges of available contents of trace elements in the soil of citrus, longan and litchi orchards in south subtropi-cal zone in Fujian,These indexes may provide the references of nutrition diagnosis forthe orchard soil.

Pollen Morphology of Rosa cymosa and Its Nutrient Contents
Liu Jianqiu, Zhang Qingqi, Wu Wenshan
    1994, 23(01): 8-12.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (284KB) ( )
The pollen morphology of Rosa cymosa was examined under SEM,Its nutrient contents were also determined. They were as follows:total nitrogen 2.73%,protein 17.11%,reducing sugar 21.75%,soluble sugar 22.4%,amino acids 29.85%,essential amino acids 13.93%,The ratio of essential amino acid patterns was similar to that of the patterns recommended by FAO/WHO, The order of the trace element amount was:Mg > Fe > Zn > Mn > Cu > M0 > Se.The contents of vitamin B1,Vitamin B2,VitaminCand β-carotene were 0.74 mg/100 g,1.44 mg/100 g,48.8 mg/100 g and 3.24 mg/100 g,respectively. The results clearly show that the pollen of Rosa cymosa is rich in nutrientcontents,It is one of the natural nutrient source worthy of development and utilization.

Biological Characteristics and Habitat Characters of Anoectochilus roxburghii
Chen Yu, Lin Kunrui, Guan Qikuan, Chen Jingming
    1994, 23(01): 18-24.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (462KB) ( )
Observations were made on the source of wild Anoectochilus roxburghii in Fujian province and on the domestication of the plant in many locations, The wild source, species, reserve and folk application of the plant were found out.The present paper mainly describes the growth and development habitat and environment requirement of wild Anoectochilus roxburghii, providing scientific basis for domestication.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (299KB) ( )
Chinquapin (Castanea henryi) blight disease is first reported in Fujian,China,Investigation on the disease made from 1992 to 1993 showed that it was an important disease developing from April to October relating to the varieties, ages of trees of chinquapin and other pests in Fujian, It was caused by Cryphonectria parasitica (Murr.)Barr [Endothia parasitica (Murr.) And. & And].

Induction of Freesia Corm in Vitro and its Blossom
    Huang Minling, Chen Shilin
    1994, 23(01): 30-34.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (333KB) ( )
Shoot tips of Freesia hybrida cv. Aurora and Ballerina were induced to many buds on MS medium added with 3.0 mg/L BA and 0.2 mg/L NAA,Tranferred into MS medium added with 0.5 mg IBA and active carbon, these buds were induced to from cormels at 13±2℃ for one month. The results of the identification by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis showed no difference was found in the dissolvable protein patterns between the cormels and Original corms. It took about seven months for cormels to blossom after being transplanted to soil.Their ornamental characters were absolutely stable,The new corms harvested were big enough and came up to the standard of com-mercial corms, available to Droduce cut flowers.

Application of Leucaena leucocephala Leaves Instead of Wheat Bran in Cultivation of Flammulina velutipes
Guo Cuiying, Chen Fangshun, Huang Weinan, Liu Fuping, Lin Lixian
    1994, 23(01): 35-40.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (316KB) ( )
The leaves of Leucaena leucocphala were used as nitrogenous additive instead of part or the whole of wheat bran, making up 10%,13.5%,17% and 27%,respectively,of the total media, Strain 19,strain 306 and strain 98 of Flammulina velutlpes were selected for cultural experiment. The results showed that the hyphae of Flalnmuli-na veluties grew well in the above four media,The daily growth rate was higher thanthat of the control (added with 27% wheat bran),increasing 4.0%~18.0%. The hyphae grew the fastest when the medium was added with 10% Leucaena leucocephala leaves and 17% wheat bran;the mushrooms brought into crop the earliest with the highestvield, increasing more 3.4%~5.0% mushrooms than the control. The strain 19 yielded the most and strain 306 the second.

Effects of Different Saline Concentrations on Azolla Growth and Some Physiological Indices
Zhang Ning, Tang Longfei, Zheng Deying
    1994, 23(01): 41-45.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (276KB) ( )
Low saline concentration (0.2% NaCl)stimulated Azolla growth. Azollain low saline concentration turned to be bigger and thicker, longer and stronger in the root than that of the control.Azolla moisture content in low saline concentration was similar to that of the control, but obvious de watering was found in high concentration.Azolla salt-absorbed content rose with increasing saline concentration,The physiological indices determined indicated that the chlorophyll content, nitrogenase activity and nitrogen content increased obviously, while the soluble sugar content was the lowest. It suggests that the increment of photosynthesis and nitrogen fixation might be the cause to stimulate the growth of Azolla in low saline concentration.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (254KB) ( )
The effects of plant hormones, coconut milk, sugar, illumination and temperature on organogenesis of Vanilla fragrans were studied while the stem explants were grown on MS medium,The results showed that 1.5 mg/L BA or 0.2 mg/L BA with coconut milk or 1 mg/L NAA was beneficial to bud proliferation and growth;0.5 mg/L IAA with 3% sugar was beneficial to induce root formation. It was better when the light was controlled with 8000 1x for 18 hours.

A Preliminary Study on the Medicinal plant ‘YILIHUANG’ in Fujian
    Chang Yongtian
    1994, 23(01): 56-59.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (273KB) ( )
The present paper describes the ecological and biological characteristics of the folk medicinal plant ‘Yilihuang’ (Nereilia plicata),About 80 species of Nerrilia distribute in tropical and subtropical regions of eastern hemisphere,Six species occur in China, three of which are endemic to Taiwan;the rest native to Guangdong, Guangxi,Hainan and Yunnan provinces,Among them N.plicata is a new record from Tongan and Guankou of Xiamen, southeast Fujian, In our recent survey,it was found growing in the wide valley or along the stream on middle-lower part of the mountain slopes. However, these regions with rainy season, soil moisture are most favorable for growth of these plants.
