    2002, 31(03): 1-5.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (188KB) ( )
The endogenous rooting inhibitors in the branch of LH21 clone (Eucalyptus urophylla×Eucalyptus camaldulensis) were studied by sprouting experiments of the rooting of cuttings and germination rate of seeds. The crude extract was purified by organic solvent extraction methods and silica gel column chromatography and five fractions were separated. The results indicated that the inhibitory action of five fractions were different. According to the analysis of Duncan's SSR, two fractions have strong inhibited effects to rooting.

    2002, 31(03): 16-18.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (121KB) ( )
Treated with 60Co-γ irradiation at 0.5kGy, 1.5kGy and 2.5kGy, respectively, Brassica oleracea packed with 0.08mm polythene plastic was stored at 12-21℃. The results showed that 2.5kGy irradiation gave the best result for preservation and Brassica oleracea kept fresh after 7-day storage while the control all turned yellow and lost commercial value. The physiological-biochemical change of Brassia oleracea treated with 2.5kGy irradiation was also analyzed. Results were as follows:the contents of Methionine(Met), ethylene production and respiratory intensity decreased by 72.23%, 72.41% and 71.95%, respectively; the contents of chlorophyll, anthocyania, Vit C, reducing sugar and protein had no much change compared to those of the controls. 7 days after irradiation treatment, the contents of Met, ethylene production and respiratory intensity increased to the levels as before and the contents of chlorophyll, anthocyania, Vit C, reducing sugar and protein were higher than those of the controls.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (163KB) ( )
The effects of boron on growth and some physiological-biochemical indexes of Brassica campestris were studied. The results showed that the growth, bolting and flowering of Brassica campestris were inhibited at boron deficiency, and boron deficiency resulted in a significant decrease in pollen activity, the contens of chlorophyll and the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD). Meanwhile, the contents of soluble sugar and malondialdehyde (MDA), the activity of peroxidase (POD) increased.

Study on tissue culture of Echinocactus grusonii var. albispinus
    LIN Li-qiong, LIU Jing-chun
    2002, 31(03): 71-73.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (127KB) ( )
Taking the spheroids that produced from seeds in bacteria free environment as explants, tissue culture of Echinocactus grusonii var. albispinus was conducted. The results showed that the spheroids could differentiate into substantial new spheroids on MS+6-BA 1.0mg/L+NAA 0.1mg/L when the apical point of explants were removed. When the concentration of 6-BA was 4.0~6.0mg/L, the callus differentiation could be induced, but the rate of induction was low with longer period. The optimal medium for subculture was MS+6-BA 0.5mg/L+NAA 0.1mg/L and 1/2MS with or without NAA was best for rooting.
