A field experiment was conducted in 2000 to examine the effects of different application rates on growth and bearing of plum. Four treatments were used, including N, P, K fertilizers (N:P2O5:K2O=1:0.4:0.6) 1.38kg/plant/y, N, P, K fertilizers combined with organic fertilizer, with calx and borax, and the control (N:P2O5:K2O=1:1.9:1.7, 1.83kg/plant/y). The results showed that N, P, K fertilizers combined with calx and borax increased the percentage of fertile fruit and yield by 9.9% and 14.2%, respectively, and promoted the growth of new shoots. The effect of organic fertilizers was exhibited in the next year.
