    2017, 46(01): 1-7.  DOI: 10.3969/j.issn.1009-7791.2017.01.001
    Abstract ( )   PDF (411KB) ( )
In order to investigate the resistance mechanism and purifying capacity of major afforestation tree species to sulfur dioxide (SO2) pollution, Alnus cremastogyne was selected and studied. The results showed that: (1) The leaves appeared injury symptoms at the 14th and 7th day under SO2 4.29 mg·m-3 and 8.57 mg·m-3 treatments respectively; (2) With the increase of SO2, the content of total chlorophyll (Chl), Chl a/b rate and net photosynthesis rate (Pn) decreased in the leaves, but stomatal conductance (Gs), transpiration rate (Tr) and intercellular CO2 concentration increased first and then decreased, in addition, Pn was no significant difference between CK and treatment of SO2 4.29 mg·m-3; (3) The content of proline (Pro), soluble sugar (SS), soluble protein (SP) and malonaldehyde (MDA) in the leaves rose gradually with increasement of SO2 concentration; (4) The POD and SOD activities in the leaves increased with SO2 increasing, but the CAT activity decreased first and then increased; (5)With the increase of SO2, the sulphur content in the leaves increased. In conclusion, A. cremastogyne could adjust own stress protection system to adapt SO2-polluted environment and maintain the normal growth, it could be planted in SO2 polluted areas as the large-scale use of afforestation tree species and achieve the goal of harnessing pollution.

    2017, 46(01): 15-19.  DOI: 10.3969/j.issn.1009-7791.2017.01.003
    Abstract ( )   PDF (342KB) ( )
Photosynthetic characteristics of Syzygium cumini, Elaeocarpus sylvestris and Schima superba seedlings were studied under different waterlogging depths (0 and 5 cm depths of water aboved soil surface). The results showed that with increasing waterlogging time, net photosynthetic rates, stomatal conductances and transpiration rates of seedlings of the three species were decreased, and decrease ranges of the photosynthetic indices for the treatment with 5 cm waterlogging depth were greater than the treatment with 0 cm waterlogging depth. Decreased range of net photosynthetic rate was decreased in the order of Syzygium cumini > Schima superba > Elaeocarpus sylvestris. With the synthetic judgment of all photosynthetic indices, waterlogging-resistance ability of seedlings of three species was Syzygium cumini > Schima superba > Elaeocarpus sylvestris.

The Nursing Trials of Heritiera littoralis Seedings
    ZHENG Zhou-xiang,YE Xin-an,YAN Xiao-qing,LIU De-hao,CHEN Zhi-tao,PENG Yi-sheng
    2017, 46(01): 76-82.  DOI: 10.3969/j.issn.1009-7791.2017.01.015
    Abstract ( )   PDF (697KB) ( )
The influence of different sowing times, physical treatments of seeds, and interaction between salinity and inundation regime to the germination of Heritiera littoralis was explored. The durations of seed germination sowed in autumn-winter and early spring were longer than those in late spring and summer, while no significant difference of germination duration existed between seedlings sowed in April to June and July to September. Physical treatment on pericarps obviously affected germination time and rate, then affected their growth later. The germination time was shortened by entirely and partially shelled treatment. But germination rate of partially shelled treatment was 88.9%, which was significantly higher than that of entirely shelled as 74.4%. Moreover, the seedlings of entirely shelled treatment grew faster and more robust. Salinity and inundating frequency, also their interaction had strong impacts on seed germination of H. littoralis. Indicating irrigation with freshwater and reduction of inundation frequency may facilitate the germination of H. littoralis. Soluble saccharides and polyphenol were statistically lower in condition of lower salinity and inundating frequency. Since the germination state of H. littoralis were sensitive to temperature, it was recommended to carry out sowing in April to June after collection of mature capsule collected in the last autumn with dry-storing. Such measurement could effectively lower duration and cost of nursing, and reduce germination duration of seeds.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (404KB) ( )
Ormosia hosiei (Papilionaceae) is a rare and endangered plant, and ranked in gradeⅡkey protected wildlife in China. The species is strict to habitat, distributed narrow range, and grows in low altitude around evergreen broad-leaved forest. Seed production of O. hosiei is low, the reproductive age of the species is late and unstable, and the wild natural regeneration ability is poor. The interference and unlawful phenomenon of human are more and more serious. The distribution range and population size of O. hosiei is believed to be declining and extinctive because of ongoing habitat loss and fragmentation, and the species is being decline. This paper summarized the main results of these studies from the aspects of the population and ecological niche, wood property, physiology, seed germination, seedling technique, mixed forest technology, endangered causes and conservation strategy, and put forward some suggestions for the further study on O. hosiei.
