Abstract

The present study mainly deals with the effect of snail enzymes on the dissociation of protoplasts from callus. The vegetative organs of 11 dicotyledons in 10 families were induced to produce callus on solid medium containing 1mg/L 2, 4-D.the rapid growth parts of callus were cut for experiment and fresh leaves/stems were taken as control. The results showed that snail enzyme promoted the dissociation of protoplasts from callus, but had not effect on natural organs. The effects of subculture days of 2 species and of different enzyme combinations on this dissociation process were also studied.

Some factors influencing shoot proliferation and differentiation of vegetative organs in tissue culture of
Anoectochilus roxburghii
were studied. The results showed that different kinds concentrations and proportioning of cytokinin and auxin had great effcts on the development of
in vitro
seedling stems.During proliferation, the concentration was:BA 1.0 mg/L, IBA 0.5 mg/L, while at differentiation and development of organs, the concentration of hormones reduced 3 times than that at proliferation stage;10-15 plantlets were transplanted. The intensity of illumination markedly influenced the leaf growth at the plant growth stage.500 lx was optimum intensity.Active carbon significantly improved the growth of induced roots.Better result was obtained when added with 0.5% active carbon.

The paper described the symptoms of the disease caused by root-knot ne-matodes on papaya (
Carica papayz
) and on passionfruit (
Passiflora edulis
).The identification of pathogen confirmed that this infection disease on papaya was caused by Meloidog-yne icognita. The pathogen to passionfruit was the mixed population consisting of
M. acrita
,
M. incognita
and
M. arenaria
.And
M. incognita
was the predominant species.

In an attempt to remove the astringency from the
Elaeagnus conferta
fruits, a processing technique was studied.Natural fruit juice with milky-white colour and distinctive flavour, and preserved fruit with acceptable taste and sweet flavour were developed. The economic potential of the fruit was thus increased.

The effects of maturity, packing methods, branches and leaves, CA, temperatures and preservatives upon postharvest storage of
Elaeagnus conferta
fruits were studied. The results showed that the yellow fruits with branches and leaves were suitable for storage.Especially, the fruits should be dipped in 3% thiourea solution for 10 min.and sealed up with desiccators or plastic baskets covered with two layers of polyethylene film (0.03 mm).Under these conditions, the storage life of treated fruit was up to 38-42 days with more than 97.3% of perfect fruits at room tenperatures (15-20℃), and 75-90 days with more than 90.0% of perfect fruits at the optimum temperatures (6-12℃).

This paper deals with the climatic features and the biology of tea plants in Fujian hilly lands. It was calculated by computer on the principle of meteorologic index for safe growing of tea plants, thermal index and key meteorologic factor for good quality of tea.The results are as follows:1.Tea plants with broad leaves:For the best zonig tea growing areas——elevationof 400-560 m in southwest Fujian, elevation of 200-400 m in central Fujian;for betterzoning tea growing areas——elevation of 600-874 m in southwest Fujian, elevation of 200-600 m in central and northeast Fujian.2.Tea plants with medium and small leaves:For the best zoning tea growing areas——elevation of 600-874 m in southwest Fujian;for better zoning tea growing areas——elevation of 1200 m in southwest Fujian, elevation of 1100 m in central Fujian, elevation of 600-900 m in north and northeast Fujian;for good zoning tea growing areas——elevation of 1500-1700 m in southwest Fujian, elevation of 1200-1500 m in central Fujian, elevation of 950-1200m in north and northeast Fujian. Therefore, according to these data, the technique systems are put forward to open up scientifically tea resource in Fujian hilly lands.

The ecological characteristics and growth habit of
Dichondra repens
(Convolvulaceae) were studied, and its main uses were also discussed. The result showed that
Dichondra repens
had stronger adaptability, high-speed growing, beautiful leaf, long duration of green leaves and high density of vegetation.
Dichondra repens
is a perfect ornamental lawn grass and medicinal plant with good developing prospect.

The inhibiting effect of
Bacillus subtilis
on the pathogenes to citrus fruits,
Penicillium italicum
and
Penicillium digitatum
, was preliminarily tested by soak ing fruits with the cell suspension or supernatant solution of
Bacillus subtilis
.The results indicated that the
Bacillus subtilis
had a strong inhibiting activity against the pathogenes and effectively prevented citrus fruit rot.

Abstract

The broad-leaved evergreen forests in Quanzhou, Fujian province, consist of south subtropical rain forest and south subtropical mountain laurislvae. The analysis of floristic compositions, life form, leaf quality, structure and distribution of community demonstrates some distinctive characteristics and landcape of south subtropical rain forest, with
Cryptocarya chinensis
and
Machilus thumbergii
as dominants, from under 450 m above sea level. These communities mainly dominate with
Castanopsis carlesii
, distributing between 450 m and 900 m above sea level, and it reserves some characteristics of south subtropical rain forest. These communities dominate with
Castanopsis eyrei
as chief edificato, distributing between 900m and 1400m above sea level. It is of community characteristics of middle subtropical laurisilvae.

A Preliminary Investigation on Factors of Fruit Dehiscence in Satsuma
Cheng Zhongping

Abstract

PDF
(323KB) (
)
Investigation on fruit dehiscence in Satsuma (
Citrus reticulata
) in 1990 primarily proved that some factors, such as different lines, different length of basic stocks, intermediate stocks and stocks, location of trees in the orchards, portions of the trees, growth potentiality of trees, the sequence of dehiscent fruits in bearing branches, irrigation conditions, changes of meteorological elements, variation in fruit indices, were correlated to fruit dehiscence.Based on these analyses, some preventive measures for fruit dehiscence were taken.
