    1998, 27(02): 1-6.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (383KB) ( )
This paper deals with the contents, pool amounts and annual dynamics of Si element in Dendrocalampsis oldhami forest in south Fujiqn, China. The results were as follows:1. Si element contents (% dw) varied in various fractions of Dendrocalameopsis oldhami forest. The range of contents was 0.208%~ 6.346% and the order in various fractions was leaf> fine root> branch> rhizome> stem.2. The pool amounts of Si element in the standing crop of biomass were 261.168 g/m2, in which those of aerial part were 207.385 g/m2 (accounting for 79.41%)and those of under ground portion were 53. 783 g/m2 (20.59%). The distribution of aerial part were higher than those of under ground portion in Dendrocalamopsis oldhami forest.3. Si element contents of Dendrocalameopsis oldhami leaves tended to increase from summer to winter, with the exception of that in November 1996; the highest was in February 1997; but Si element contents decreased gradually in spring, the lowest was in May 1997.4. Si element contents continually released and accumulated from decomposing fine roots in Dendrocalamopsis oldhami forest from July 1996 to June 1997.

Studies on Mutation and Selection of Kojic Acid-producing Mold
Zhou Weidong, Shen Yufen, Chen Yiliang, Chen Songhe, Lin Yaohui
    1998, 27(02): 12-16.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (319KB) ( )
A mutant strain UV21012-1 producing Kojic acid was obtained from the start strain Aspergillus oryzae 2336 treated with ultraviolet irradiation twice. This mutant strain exhibited good genetic stability in the procedure of successive inoculation and fermentation. The kojic acid productivity of the UV21012-1 increased by 1. 68 times compared with that of the start strain. Meanwhile, the fermentation period of UV21012-1 was shorter than that of the start strain.

Determination of Vanillin in Vanilla Beau by HPLC
Huang Yuhuan, Liu Hongzhou, You Ruichen
    1998, 27(02): 17-20.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (225KB) ( )
Vanillin was extracted from vanilla bean with 60% ethyl alcohol, and then separated by HPLC and determined at UV 330 nm. This method offers a new approach simplifying the treatment of samples and saving time as well as lowering operating costs. The lowest limit of vanillin content of vanilla bean using this method was 0. 01 μg.

Effect of Root Induction on Transplantation and Survival Rate of Strawberry in vitro Plantlets
    Tan Zhiyou
    1998, 27(02): 21-25.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (291KB) ( )
Influence of duration of induction, root number and length on the survival rate and the growth of shoots of strawberry plantlets were studied. The results showed that the induction period at 41~50 days gave the best effect on the plantlets, which survived up to 94%. The more the roots, the easier the plantlets survived. The roots length at 5.0~10.0 cm was beneficial to survival.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (272KB) ( )
The specimens of anthracnose of Chinese yam (Dioscorea batata) were collected from Yangfang, Shaxian, Fujian. The pathogen was identified as Colletotrichum copsici. The appresoria formed from hyphae and conidia in water culture on the slide. The control measures of the disease are suggested in this paper.

Bionomics of Pseudococcus adonidum Geoffr and Its Control
Wang Jin, Guo Rongfang, Zheng Yunju
    1998, 27(02): 34-38.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (291KB) ( )
Pseudococcus adonidum Geoffr is a serious insect pest living on the street tree in Xiamen. It occurs 5~6 generations a year. The nymphes hibernate on the back of the leaves and begin to appear in early March in the following year. The duration of insect egg is 6 days and that of adults 13 days. Spraying with 90%Diptere, 80% Boichlovos and 50% Phoximic gave the best results for controlling the nymphes.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (347KB) ( )
Nine compounds were isolated from the Et0Ac extraction of Ampelopsis grossedentata. By the evidence of spectral analyses and chemical methods, they were identified as palmitic acid (1),β-sitosterol (2), emodin (3), methylgallate (4),quercetin (5), quercetin-3-0-β-D-glucoside (6), taxifol in (7), apigenin (8) and ampelopsin (9). These compounds were first isolated from this plant.

Current State Utilization of Medicinal Substances from Ginkgo biloba and Their Prospects
    Wu Yuanli
    1998, 27(02): 52-55.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (290KB) ( )
The extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves is the most important source of ginkgolides and bilobalide, but the extraction sitll exists some limiting factors, such as environment, season, etc. on the other hand, the production of ginkgolides and bilobalide through Ginkgo biloba tissue and cell culture is under its initial stage. However the developing technigue can be used not only in producing ginkgolides and bilobalide but also in conducting theoretical study of Ginkgo biloba.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (443KB) ( )
There exists many interaction between aerial part and under ground port ion in evergreen fruit trees, with respect to inter——nutrition, alternate growth, canopy symmetry and growth balance, mycorrhizal effect and hormone regulation. In cultural practices, early bearing, high yielding and good quality could be achieved through regulation of the above——mentioned balanced interaction with comprehensive techniques.
