Characters of Leaf Epidermis in 9 Species of Ulmaceae from China
    SUN Tong-xing
    2008, 37(04): 1-8.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (5749KB) ( )
Epidermal characters of mature leaves in 9 species belonging to 6 genera of Ulmaecae were investigated with the help of epidermal maceration and light microscope. The results show that the stomatal apparatus are anomocytic and exist only on the abaxial epidermis in 9 species.Trichomes are mainly divided into glandular hair and non glandular hair.Glandular hairs consist of 1 basal cell, 2~4 stalk cells and 2~4 dilated head cells.Non glandular hairs are developed from one cell, yellow cystolith is often found at the base of the trichome, some hairs are very short and take on beaked shape, another hairs are long wimble shape.Based on the above morphological characters, it is not reasonable that Ulmaceae (sensu lato) was divided into two independent families.Meanwhile, the shape of epidermal cells, the pattern of trichomes and the characters of stomatal apparatus vary obviously with species and genera.

    2008, 37(04): 12-14,21.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (898KB) ( )
Seasonal variations of chlorophyll, the activities of glycolate oxidase (GO) and RuBPC carboxylase (RuBPCase) in Chorisia speciosa leaves were studied. The results were as follows. The concentrations of Chla、Chlb and Chl (a+b) changed from May to December, and reached their high peak on July;Seasonal variation in the activity of RuBPcase was a bimodal curve and had two peaks in June and September, the peaks were about 275 nmol/mg·min and 248 nmol/mg·min, respectively, and there was a low valley in August;Seasonal variation in the activity of GO was different to RuBPcase, its peak came in August and reached about 252 nmol/mg·min.Seasonal variations of PAR and Tair were important to chlorophyll and the activity of GO, and had a significantly relationship with them.

QIN Ming, LIU Can, LI Ling
    2008, 37(04): 15-17,28.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1031KB) ( )
The effects of 4-PU and 6-BA on formations of the calli and adventitious buds from epicotyl explants in peanut were studied in the experiment.in the MS medium contained 0.1 mg/L 4-PU and 6-BA 4 mg/L for 20 days, the formation rate of calli could reach 100%.0.1 mg/L 4-PU combined with 1-4mg/L 6-BA in MS medium, promoted the adventitious buds formation. The optimal medium for adventitious bud information and shoot elongation were MS+0.1 mg/L 4-PU+2 mg/L 6-BA and MS+0.1 mg/L 4-PU+4 mg/L BA, respectively. The percentage of adventitious bud formation, number and length of buds of peanut grown in the MS medium contained only 0.5 mg/L 4-PU were higher than those grown in the MS medium contained 0.5 mg/L 4-PU+6-BA.

    2008, 37(04): 18-21.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (970KB) ( )
The study was conducted to establish the methods which to detect the contents of four kinds of cytokinin components (Z, ZR, 2ip and 2ipr) in Arabidopsis thaliana simultaneously by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).Results showed that they could be determined precisely in Arabidopsis thaliana by using reversed phase column Waters C18(4.6×250 mm, 5 μm), at 35℃, with acetonitrile and triethylamine buffer as mobile phase, and at flow speed 1 ml/min by gradient elution and with 270 nm.The detectable limitation of this method was 0.001 μg/ml.

ZHANG Tao, ZHANG Yu-song, CHENG Zu-xin
    2008, 37(04): 29-31.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (845KB) ( )
Ultrasonic extraction was used to extract the gypenosides from fresh leaves sample (F), fixed sample (X), baked sample (B), air-dried sample (A) and dry tea sample (D) of Gynostemma pentaphyllum. The results showed that the content of total gypenosides was X >B >F >A >D.It maybe that gypenosides decompounding level depends on glycosidase deactivation level. It would be paid attention to in production and experiment study.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (841KB) ( )
Paeonia ostii ‘Feng Dan’ is rare and valuable treasure of peonies, its medicinal value ranks the top among the four famous Chinese medicine. However, the cultivation of P.ostii ‘Feng Dan’ has been limited due to high level of seed dormancy. In the study, the effects of different treatments (AgNO3, GA3, KT, TDZ and 4℃) on seed dominancy were studied. The results showed that the treatments of AgNO3, GA3 and 4℃ accelerated germination, produced high germination rate and improved the growth (fresh weight, seedling length and root development etc.) of P.ostii ‘Feng Dan’ seedling compared with the control to some extent.

Among them, there are 6 species of gymnosperm plants belonging to 5 genera, 3 families, 74 species of dicotyledoneae plants belonging to 52 genera, 31 families, and 10 species of monocotylodoneae plants belonging to 7 genera, 5 families. The fragrant plants concentrate on Magnoliaceae, Lauraceae, Myrtacear, Rutaceae, Compositae, Verbenaceae, and Zingiberaceae. In this thesis, Cinnamomum camphora, Litsea cubeba, Gardenia jasminoides, Alpinia japonica, Houttuynia cordata etc. were mainly introduced. Base on the analysis of characteristics of the fragrant plants resources and the method of machining, some suggestions about how to rationally exploit them were put forward.
