    LI Hui-hua, Xie Zhi-nan, LAI Rui-yun, SU Ming-hua
    2007, 36(04): 1-4.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (184KB) ( )
Five papaya varieties with different disease resistance were infected with Papaya ringspot virus, the activities of phenylalanine ammonia lyase (PAL), polyphenol oxidase (PPO) and peroxidase (POD) in papaya leaves were determined. The results indicated that the differences of the activities of PAL、PPO、POD among five papaya varieties before infected were small, and the descending order of enzyme activities was ‘Malai-10’, ‘Mihong-3’, ‘Malai-6’, ‘Malai-2’, ‘Tainong-2’. After infected, the activities of PAL、PPO、POD of five papaya varieties were higher significantly than those of their respective control, the change of enzyme activities in ‘Malai-10’ was most significant and that of ‘Tainong-2’ was slowest.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (357KB) ( )
Cloning and sequencing were applied to analyze 18S-26S rRNA and ITS on 14 varieties of Canarium album. The results showed that the 14 varieties of Canarium album could be partitioned to 4 groups.Taking No.1 variety as control sample, the sequence of total 634 nucleotides in ITS1, ITS2 and 5.8S was same on No.3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 variety, and only one nucleotide differed from the control in ITS2, and No.2 variety had two nucleotides differed from the control in ITS2, and the 9 varieties above belonged to the first group. The sequences of No.5 and No.14 were same, and had one nucleotide difference in ITS1 and ITS2 respectively compared to the control, No.5 and 14 varieties belonged to the second group. The sequences of No.10 and No.12 were same, and had two different nucleotides in ITS1 compared to the control, and No.10 and No.12 varieties belonged to the third group. The last group was No.13 variety, which had one and twenty-four different nucleotides in ITS1 and ITS2 respectively compared to the control. The homology tree established by DNAMAN showed the variation among the 14 varieties of Canarium album. And the sequence of Canarium album deposited in GenBank under number DQ517524.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (373KB) ( )
The cryopreservation technique of Pueraria lobata shoot-tip was studied in this paper. The results showed that the better procedure of cryopreservation by vitrification was as follows. The aseptic plantlets of H# Pueraria lobata subcultured in vitro for 30 days were treated at 4℃ for 5 days. The shoot-tips 1.5~2.5 mm in length with one or two leaf primordium of H# Pueraria lobata were cut and precultured at 4℃ for 1 day in MS supplemented with 5% DMSO+5% sucrose. They were dehydrated with 60% and 100% PVS2(PVS2:30% glycerol+15% glycol+15% dimethyl sulfoxide+13.7% sucrose) at 0℃ for 30 minutes, respectively. The shoot-tips were immersed immediately into liquid nitrogen directly and conserved for 24 hours. After rapidly thawing in a water bath at 40℃ for 90 seconds, the shoot-tips were washed two times with MS supplemented with 41.1% sucrose (10 minutes each time), then transferred and re-cultured on the MS medium supplemented with BA 2 mg/L and NAA 1mg/L in dark for 7 days and then in light. The survival rate was up to 60%.The regenerated plantlets of Pueraria lobat were the same as the normal plantlets in morphology.

Correlation Analysis Between Photosynthetic Rate and Some Ecological Factors of Populus deltoides CL. ‘Zhongjia 8’
    WU Rui-yun
    2007, 36(04): 16-19.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (195KB) ( )
To analysis the correlation between net photosynthetic rate and ecological factors, using the methods of stepwise regression and analysis of path is much better than correlation analysis of duality variable.By the methods of stepwise regression and analysis of path, this paper studied the diurnal changes of zhongjia8, a crossbreed from Occident Poplar, during early summer and autumn. The results indicated that the diurnal changes of Pn showed a single-peak curve in early summer, the major factor affecting it was PAR (X1), and PAR had extremely significant correlation with Pn.The optimum equation of Pn was attained as follows:Y=17.8271+0.0108 X1-0.2185 X2(multiple correlated coefficient R=0.9954, F=215.4439, significance level p=0.0001, Pn-Y, PAR-X1, RH-X2).But in September, Pn showed a two-peak curve, the major factor affecting it was Ca(X4).The optimum equation was attained as follows:Y=5.2915-0.0030X1+0.3414X3-0.0216X4 (multiple correlated coefficient R=0.8962, F=4.0823, significance level p=0.1391, Pn-Y, PAR-X1, RH-X2, Tleaf-X3, Ca-X4).

Effects of Extract Solution from the Seed of Jatropha curcas on Seed Germination and Seedling Growth of Crops
    HU Yuan, ZHAO De-gang
    2007, 36(04): 24-26.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (155KB) ( )
Jatropha curcas is one of important raw materials of biological diesel oil.The seed germination and growth of rape, fodder grass and wheat treated with the solution extracted from the seeds of Jatropha curcas were investigated to study the effects of mass cultivation of Jatropha curcas on the environment and the growth of plants. The results showed that the water solution from Jatropha curcas seeds reduced the germination percentage of seeds, the length of buds and the length of roots of these three crops. Most alcoholic extracts could reduce the germination percentage of seeds, the length of buds and the length of roots of fodder glass and wheat. But some alcoholic extracts at specific concentration could promote the growth of rape buds.

    2007, 36(04): 33-37.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (281KB) ( )
Our extensive investigation to the landscape plants cultivated in the urban green-lands of Guangzhou city and our comprehensive assessment to the species constitution revealed that the garden plants were very rich in terms of species number but only small part of plants were highly dominant in terms of species constitution. Moreover, the indigenous plants were poorly applied, on the contrary, the alien plants took up dominant proportion and poisonous plants were also commonly introduced in Guangzhou city.On the basis of our investigation to the wild plants in Guangzhou district, we selected 11 arboreal, 6 shrubby, and 3 herbal indigenous plants with high ornamental and applicable values and introduced their features and uses, so as to provide much valuable reference for the future selection and application of landscape plants in Guangzhou.
