    The Preliminary Exploration of Remediation the Antibiotics Polluted Water by Two Hydrophytes

    Hydroponics was used to detect the change of ampicillin, tetracycline, oxytetracycline, and chlortetracycline concentrations in water, to make sure that the elimination effect of Pistia stratiote and Eichhornia crassipes on the antibiotics in the polluted water. The results showed that ①in the high concentration series(10~50 μg/mL), the elimination effects of E. crassipes on oxytetracycline and chlortetracycline are better than those of P. stratiote; ②for gathered sewage (antibiotics concentrations<2.5 μg/mL), after training 72 hours, the removal rate for P. stratiote and E. crassipes to tetracycline reached above 80% and 90% respectively, to ampicillin, reached above 80% and 70% respectively. To sum up, the P. stratiote and E. crassipes can repair different level of the water polluted by this four antibiotics, especially E. crassipes. E. crassipes can be supposed to the preferred plant to remove the antibiotics in the polluted water.

    Study on the Effects of Several Additives on the PLB Proliferation and Tube Seedlings Growth of Oncidium ‘Gower Ramsey’

    By using PLB and tube seedlings as material, based on the culture medium MS + 6-BA 2 mg/L + Ad 1 mg/L + NAA 0.1 mg/L + sucrose 30 g/L, the effects of 5 additives including banana, taro, potato, pumpkin, activated carbon (AC) and their combinations on the Oncidium ‘Gower Rramsey’ protocorm-like body (PLB) propagation and tube seedlings growth, were studied by the method of morphological indexes by weighted analysis. The results showed that potato homogenate 50 g/L appropriate for PLB propagation, after 45 d of cultured, the PLB propagation coefficient was 3.64 times than the control; banana homogenate 50 g/L + AC 1 g/L appropriate for small tube seedlings (about 1.5 cm) propagation and growth, weighted score was 1.53 times than the control; potato homogenate 25 g/L + banana homogenate 25 g/L appropriate for middle tube seedlings (about 2.5 cm) propagation and growth, weighted score was 1.55 times than the control.

    With pollen development, a big vacuole appeared in the pollen and the starch grains in endothecium and tapetum disappeared. Then the big vacuole decomposed and some starch grains appeared in pollen. Tapetal cells degenerated with pollen development. Some lipid material accumulated in tapetal cells and the lipid material in pollen grains also increased. The most store material in mature pollen is lipid and small part of starches. The process of nutrition material accumulated in pollen with special time and part is also a developmental feature.

    A field investigation was conducted on the floral syndrome and pollination characteristics of Primula pseudodenticulata in artificial population by continuous observation, out-crossing index, pollen-ovule ratio and fruit setting rate. The main results are as follows: Under artificial cultivation conditions, the population come into bloom from December to February of the following year. The flowering span for a plant is month to 1.5 months. The life span of one single flower was 9~14 days. Single flowers have long styles and short-style flower divided. The pollinating insects of P. pseudodenticulata are mostly bees, in addition to butterflies, flies. These indicate that the breeding system of P. pseudodenticulata is facultative selfing.

    Floristic Analysis of the Evergreen Broadleaved Forest Community along an Urban-Rural Gradient in Guangzhou

    Floristic composition of the evergreen broadleaved forest in Maofeng Mountain, Baiyun Mountain, and Liantang, as an urban-to-rural gradient of Guangzhou, was analyzed based on community data. The results indicated that the community in Maofeng Mountain was the richest in species diversity, with 87 families of vascular plants including 155 genera and 212 species, dominant families of the flora were Rubiaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Lauraceae, Agrostidoideae, Rutaceae, Myrsinaceae, and Fagaceae. Vascular plants in Baiyun Mountain plot consisted of 168 species, belonging to 72 families, and 121 genera. Dominant families of the flora were Rubiaceae, Lauraceae, Moraceae, Agrostidoideae, Euphorbiaceae, and Aquifoliaceae. However, Liantang community included only 55 families, 88 genera and 102 species. Dominant families of the flora were Rubiaceae, Lauraceae, and Euphorbiaceae. As for generic distribution, the pantropic areal-type represented the majority of genera, followed by old world tropics and tropical Asia, while typical genera were rare and showed the basic features of lower subtropical flora in these three communities. There were three genera of E. Asia in Baiyun Mountain, four genera of E. Asia and one genera of endemic to China in Maofeng Mountain.

    Effects of Low Temperature Stress on Physiological Characteristics of Parakmeria lotungensis

    To analyze the cold resistance of Parakmeria lotungensis, its membrane leakage, contents of dissociative praline, soluble sugar, POD and chlorophyll were investigated under the conditions of natural low-temperature in Nanjing. The major results were as follows: In study period, the trends of contents of chlorophyll were similar to the monthly even low temperature with a small radian. The membrane leakage continuously improved. The contents of soluble sugar was negatively correlative with the monthly even low temperature during the over-wintering. The contents of dissociative praline and the activity of POD firstly increased and then decreased.

    The experiment with different temperature (40, 50, 60 ℃) of the warm water and different concentrations (50, 80, 110, 140 mg/L) of gibberellin (GA3) solution respectively soaking of well-developed seeds of Rudbeckia hybrida, to study the effects of combination of different treatments on seed germination characteristics, and provide a theoretical basis for R. hybrida seedlings breeding. The results showed that the treatment of 80 mg/L of GA3 solution soaked by two hours for the seeds has a better result on the germination percentage and germinability. The germination characteristics of the seeds are the best in all the treatments.

    The hermaphrodite kiwifruit ‘Longshan red’ was screened from Actinidia deliciosa var. coloris at the southern section of Mount. Longmen in Sichuan province. It was the first time that the fully developed hermaphrodite colorful kiwifruit variety was found. This article reported the effect of temperature and GA3 on seed germination of hermaphrodite kiwifruit ‘Longshan red’ for the first time. After treated with low-temperature stratification, variable temperature, GA3 and their combinations, we found that all above treatments could break dormancy and promote germination effectively, and the temperature treatment was better.

    In this test, seeds of 3 clonal cultivars of Camellia oleifera were treated by 60Co-γray with a gradient of doses(1 000, 2 000, 3 000 rad). Through measuring on the height and diameter of one year and a half C. oleifera seedlings, the impact on the growth of C. oleifera seedlings was investigated. The result indicates that 1 000 rad radiation dose have played a role in promoting growth of C. oleifera ‘Cenruan 3’ height. For C. oleifera ‘Cenruan 2’ after 1 000 rad and 2 000 rad dose of radiation, the seedlings of diameter have shove a marked change. For C. oleifera ‘Cenruan 11’ after 1 000 rad, 3 000 rad dose of radiation, the seedlings of diameter have a marked change.

    Effects of Boric Acid and Sucrose on Pollens Germination of Nymphaea tetragona

    The suitable germinating media for Nymphaea tetragona pollen were studied by in vitro culture. The results showed that the optimal concentration of sucrose and boric acid for germination of N. tetragona pollen were sucrose 60 mg/L and boric acid 15 mg/L, the pollen germination rate was 30.83% and 23.73% respectively.

    The spore sterile culture and routine propagation of Asplenium nidus were studied respectively. The results showed that the maximum rate of spore germination was 66.7% in the spore sterile culture; the sporophyte formation was almost impossible in solid culture mediums until the prothallus were cultured for 2 weeks in 1/2MS solution. In contrast, the sporophyte formation was easy in the spore routine propagation. When the spores were applied to soil by 0.02 g per pots, one gram of spores produced over 4 000 sporophytes. The spore routine propagation was simpler and less cost than the spore sterile culture. So the spore propagation is more suitable for the scale production with spores of A. nidus.

    In order to sift the carrots with high quality, high yield and fit in local growing conditions to expand planting, we took experiments to seed selection for 17 new breeds of carrots in Xiang’an district, Xiamen City. The results show that YZS08-863 YZS09-983 has increased 14.0% and 28.5% per hm2 and maturity in advance of 15~20 days compared with SK4-316 from the two varieties’ file performance contrast photos. The general traits are prominent. An extensive application is available.

    The optimization of culture medium for adventitious buds proliferation of Anoectochilus formosanus were studied by orthogonal design L9(34), using the stems of test-tube seedling as explants. The results showed that the basic medium, 6-BA, NAA, sucrose had very significant effect on adventitious bud proliferation culture. The effect for proliferation culture was in the order of sucrose>the basic medium>6-BA>NAA, the optimizing medium for proliferation culture was 1/2MS + 6-BA 3.0 mg/L + NAA 0.6 mg/L + sucrose 10 g/L.

    Evaluation on the Control of Mieyiwei Bait against Solenopsis invicta under Varied Ecological Niches

    In four areas of farmlands, hillside lands, greenbelts and lawns infected the red imported fire ants, Solenopsis invicta Buren, the efficiencies of Mieyiwei bait against S. invicta were investigated. The result showed that efficiencies of treatment after 10 days using this toxin bait were differed in these four infected areas, and all were relatively poor. However, 35 days later, they all showed excellent efficiencies. In which, the correction control effects against ant nests and worker termites in all the four infected areas attained to be more than 95%. This study indicated that the Mieyiwei bait was ideal to control the red imported fire ant in infected areas with varied ecological niches, however, the treatment time should be last for more than one month.
