    Effect of Ethanol on Catalytic Activity of Papain

    The alterations of papain activity and conformation were studied in ethylene glycol solutions at different concentrations. The result showed that the papain activity was obviously decreased and the Vmax value was declined when treated with ethylene glycol. Ultraviolet difference spectra showed that the secondary structure of papain was altered in ethylene glycol solutions. Fluorescence emission spectra showed that the peak of fluorescence emission was not shifted, but the fluorescence intensity of papain increased in ethylene glycol solutions.

    Rapid Detection of Photosynthetic Capacity on Cultivars of Yellow Phalaenopsis

    Five cultivars of yellow Phalaenopsis were used for the study of comparing the photosynthetic capacity by the methods of pulse-amplitude-modulation chlorophyll fluorescence technique by fitted parameters of RLCs. The results showed that the photosynthetic capacity of the different cultivars of yellow phalaenopsis was significantly different. The cultivars had the higher Ik also had the higher rETR, and α determined the level of rETR in some cases. Furthermore, pulse- amplitude-modulation chlorophyll fluorescence technique can be used for rapid detection of photosynthetic capacity being applied in further studies.

    In order to study the extraction technology condition of flavonoids from leaves of Phyllanthus emblica by ultrasonic-assisted extraction, four factors (material-liquid ratio, ethanol concentration, ultrasonic treatment time and ultrasonic powers) were investigated in the single factor experiments. The process parameters were optimized by response surface analysis method. The optimum extraction conditions of P. emblica leaves flavonoids were determined as: material-liquid ratio 1∶73, ethanol concentration 50%, ultrasonic times 30 min and ultrasonic powers 210 W. Under this condition, the extraction rate of flavonoids was 19.51%.

    Karyotype Analysis of Four Intragenus and Intergenus Hybridized Combinations F1 Generation of Renanthera

    The chromosome number and karyotype of four hybridized combinations F1 generation including three intragenus combinations of Renanthera and one intergenus combination of Renanthera with Vanda were studied with normal squashing method in this paper. The results showed that the chromosome number of R. coccinea ‘Qi Lin’, R. coccinea ‘Qi Lin’ ′ R. sinica, (R. imschootiana ′ R. sinica) ′ R. coccinea ‘Qi Lin’ and R. imschootiana ′ Vanda coerulescens was 37, 57, 54, 38, and the karyotypes of these were formulated as 2n=2x+1=37=22m(2sat)+15sm(4sat), 2n=3x=57=39m(3sat)+12sm(3sat)+3st+3T, 2n=3x=54=9M+27m+12sm+3st+3T, 2n=2x=38=6M+ 14m+16sm+2T in turn. Asysmmetry coefficient of nuclear is 48.76, 60.50, 51.60, 65.87 respectively. The karyotypes of all examined belonged to 2B type of Stebbins. Aneuploid and polyploid were found in these hybridized combinations. The karyotypes of four F1 generations were richer in variation.

    During the course of investigating the plants in danxia of Fujian province, Southeast of China, six newly recorded taxa of Angiosperms were found. They are respectively Yinshania paradoxa, Agrimonia nipponica var. occidentalis, Buxus latistyla, Rhamnella franguloides, Chiritopsis xiuningensis and Carex ascocetra. The voucher specimens are deposited in the Herbarium of Xiamen University (AU).

    According to the investigation, there were 24 species (including changed varieties and forms) belonging to 14 genera of wild Labiatae medicinal plants in Zhentoushan Forest Park, Youxi County, Fujian Province. The proportion of wild Labiatae medicinal plants in this area in China and Fujian and the whole district, advantage, medicinal section, life types, ecological environment conditions, quantity, distribution, utilize situation and the ways to develop and utilize about wild Labiatae medicinal plants in this area. On the basis of the above, the countermeasures of protection and utilization were put forward.

    The characteristics and situation of the liana resource in Nanyue (Hengshan Mountain) are analyzed in this paper. There are rich wild liana resources in the region. These plant resources belong to 59 families, 129 genera and 282 species. Most of them have very high ornamental and economic values which can be mainly categorized into medicinal, edible, feeding, fibrous and ornamental etc. The paper also explores the ways and types of utilizing liana in three dimensional greening. In addition, it puts forward a proposal on the exploration and utilization of wild liana resources in the region in the future, in order to provide theoretical basis for the landscaping and technology developing.

    There were 177 species of fragrant plants including 120 generas and 52 families in Huizhou District, Guangdong Province. Among them, there were 12 species of gymnosperms belonging to 10 genera in 4 families, 150 species of dicotyledons belonging to 101 genera in 43 families, and 15 species of monocotyledons belonging to 9 genera in 5 families. And 88 species, 49.7% of fragrant plants were concentrated on Magnoliaceae, Lauraceae, Myrtaceae, Rutaceae, Asteraceae, Labiatae and Zingiberaceae. According to the character of climate, it suggested that Litsea cubeba, Cinnamomum parthenoxylon, Aquilaria sinensis, Santalum album, Gardenia jasminoides, Artemisia annua, Adenosma glutinosum and Vitex trifolia, Curcuma zedoaria might be key fragrant plants for ultilization in this area.

    Species Composition and Diversity Analysis of Riparian Broadleaf Forest Community in Jiangxi Wuyishan

    Investigated the species composition of riparian broadleaf forest community in Jiangxi Wuyishan National Nature Reserve, and analysed the species diversity in terms of richness index, diversity index and evenness index. The results show that the riparian zone species is abundant in Reserve, There are 304 vascular plant species, belonging to 174 genera and 93 families, The constructive species of communities and the dominant species in shrub layer are evergreen broad-leaved species, species composition is the typical characteristics of subtropical vegetation,and the largest number of species is Fagaceae, Lauraceae and Theaceae. Variation of reserve riparian species richness index and diversity index is consistent in different altitudes.

    The population structure of wild Litchi chinensis in Mt. Xiexie, located in Lianjiang, Guangdong province, was analyzed by the method of spatial variability for time series, while the spatial pattern was studied by means of t-test of variance/mean value radio. The results indicated that the spatial pattern of wild L. chinensis population was random distribution. As a result of the number of low age-class and high age-class was fewer than that of middle age-class in the population of wild L. chinensis, the population regeneration was insufficient, and the survival curve was closely to Deevey-Ⅰpattern. In other words, wild L. chinensis population of Mt. Xiexie was declining type and should be protected.

    Four universities in Kunming gained ‘National Green Model Unit’ were selected as study object in order to learn community flora composition, distribution and use of native plant species on campus by using typical sampling method. The results showed that studied campus were rich in plant species. There are 281 species of vascular plants, belonging to 97 families, 172 genera, which can represent the composition of the zonal vegetation characteristics. Plant geographical elements have the nature of the transition from temperate, subtropical to tropical zone. Through the study, we found it was urgent to accelerate the use of native plants.

    Artistic Gardens are small exhibition of gardens. The cases of artistic gardens of 2004~2011 Guangzhou Garden Expo were studied by selecting 9 typical cases. The results showed that there included three categories of art gardens according to the landscaping features. On this basis, the problems on the development of artistic gardens were discussed. It could provide a reference for future development of Guangzhou Garden Expo and garden greening.

    Geographical Element of Liana in Guangdong and Their Potential for Application in Landscape Architecture

    On the basis of summarizing the information of woody vines and the investigation and statistics of the campus and the park in Guangdong province, the woody vines of the geographical elements and its application potential in the garden were analyzed in the article. The results showed that there were 578 species (including subspecies, varieties, cultivars and forms) of liana in Guangdong Province, belonging to 59 families and 161 genera. Among them, the tropical families accounted for 71.12% of the total, genus of tropical accounted for 81.99%, which was indicated that the geographical element of Liana had the characteristics of typical tropic. It was in accordance with the East Asia monsoon climate characteristics of Guangdong. Of the liana, 531 species were Guangdong species, accounting for 91.87% of the total, furthermore, 47 species were alien species, accounting for 8.13% only. However, there just 28 families 46 genera 61species be used in landscapes, including 34 Guangdong species and 27 alien species. It demonstrates that the application of species Guangdong liana resources was not enough and had great potential. Thus, we propose that some good varieties would be promoted and domesticated to improve the diversity of woody vines and landscape diversity.

    Tissue Culture and Rapid Propagation of Dendrobium trigonopus

    Yunnan wild Dendrobium trigonopus seed plantlets in vitro aseptic germination was used as test material to explore the tissue culture and rapid propagation techniques of D. trigonopus. The results showed that the culture medium of B5 + NAA 0.5 mg·L-1 + 10% potato juice and B5 + NAA 0.5 mg·L-1 + 6-BA 0.5 mg·L-1 + 10% potato juice had a significant effect to seedlings germination and protocorm proliferation of D. trigonopus respectively; the best rooting medium was B5 + NAA 0.5 mg·L-1+ 10% potato juice + bark powder 2 g·L-1. Seedlings could be directly transplanted in the matrix of sawdust and wood shaving or sawdust and bark each half when they were simply sterilized, the survival rate exceeded 95% after transplanted 25 days.

    Tissue Culture of Anoectochilus roxburghii

    Stems with axillary buds from the elite of Anoectochilus roxburghii (Wall.) Lindl, were used as explants for in vitro rapid propagation. The results showed that the best culture media was 1/2MS+6-BA 1.5 mg·L-1 + NAA 0.2 mg·L-1; the proliferation culture media of was 1/2MS +6-BA 2.0 mg·L-1 + NAA 0.5 mg·L-1 + banana 100 g·L-1, the proliferation coefficient was 6 ~ 8 times; the rooting culture media was 1/2MS + IBA 1.0 mg·L-1 +NAA 0.5 mg·L-1+AC (activated charcoal) 0.2 g·L-1, the rooting coefficient was 95 percent. The rooting seedling transplanted into the mixture mixed by stone and cinder, the drainage ability was good, cover the film to keep Moisturizing, with a success rate of around 90 percent.

    Abscisic acid, ethylene, polyamines and cytokinins are several plant hormones which close to plant drought resistance. In this paper, changes of plant hormone levels under drought stress and effects of plant growth regulator on drought resistance of plants were reviewed in order to provide reference for the biochemical regulation of plant drought resistance.
