Investigation on Fragrant Plants in Huizhou, Guangdong Province

There were 177 species of fragrant plants including 120 generas and 52 families in Huizhou District, Guangdong Province. Among them, there were 12 species of gymnosperms belonging to 10 genera in 4 families, 150 species of dicotyledons belonging to 101 genera in 43 families, and 15 species of monocotyledons belonging to 9 genera in 5 families. And 88 species, 49.7% of fragrant plants were concentrated on Magnoliaceae, Lauraceae, Myrtaceae, Rutaceae, Asteraceae, Labiatae and Zingiberaceae. According to the character of climate, it suggested that Litsea cubeba, Cinnamomum parthenoxylon, Aquilaria sinensis, Santalum album, Gardenia jasminoides, Artemisia annua, Adenosma glutinosum and Vitex trifolia, Curcuma zedoaria might be key fragrant plants for ultilization in this area.
