    BAO Si-yuan, TAN Ming-pu, LIN Xing-hua
    2006, 35(03): 1-4.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (901KB) ( )
Based on SSR analysis in an F2 population containing 143 plants from a cross between Java14 and ZZA, a high-resolution linkage map for the Xa12 region on chromosome 4 of rice was constructed. And SSR markers (RM349、RM348、RM255、MRG4611) were incorporated into it.This result provided a solid base for fine mapping and map-based cloning of Xa12 using SSR markers in F2 population derived from the cross of Java14 and ZZA.

REN Li-min, LIU Peng, ZHENG Qi-en, ZHANG Xin-cheng, CHENG Zheng-xin
    2006, 35(03): 5-8.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (704KB) ( )
A survey of nine plants growing on the soil polluted by manganese mine in Daxin County, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region was carried out.The results indicated that the exceptional-high concentration of Mn was the most important limiting factor for plant growth among three metals (Mn, Zn and Ni).Pteris vittata, which roots showed good metal-enrichment of Mn and Ni, was turned out to have good tolerant ability of Mn, Zn and Ni according to the analysis in the paper.Miscanthus floridulus, Erigeron bonariensis, Polygonum lapathifolium and Erigeron canadensis were proved to have good Mn-tolerant ability.Microstegium gratum, Digitaria sanguinalis and Alocasia macrorrhiza were Zn-tolerant plants while Miscanthus floridulus and Erigeron canadensis were Ni-tolerant plants.Further researches which are of some significance to these plants will be still in process though hyperaccummulators of three heavy metals were not found in these plants.

    XIAO Jia-xin, PENG Shu-ang
    2006, 35(03): 12-15.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (718KB) ( )
The dynamics of calcium pectate, calcium oxalate, water soluble pectin and proto-pectin in the ovary (fruitlet) and spring-flush leaves of parthenocarpic Kamei Satsuma mandarin (Citrus unshiu Marc.) and self-pollinated Egan 1 tangerine (Citrus reticulata Blanco) around flowering were investigated. The results were as follows.Dynamics of Ca pectate concentrations in the ovary (fruitlet) and spring-flush leaves of two cultivars were similar, and they changed slightly, while dynamics of Ca oxalate concentrations in the ovary (fruitlet) were inverse between both cultivars. The concentration of Ca oxalate decreased gradually in the ovary (fruitlet) of Kamei, whereas that of Egan 1 increased significantly after flowering. The concentration of Ca oxalate in spring-flush leaves of both presented similarly increasing trends, and the concentrations of Ca pectate in the ovary (fruitlet) and spring-flush leaves and Ca oxalate in the ovary (fruitlet) of Egan 1 were at relatively high level. It was found that the dynamics of water soluble pectin in the ovary (fruitlet) and spring-flush leaves were obvious different between two cultivars. But the dynamics of proto-pectin of two cultivars were similar.Notable increases were observed for them after flowering. The concentrations of water soluble pectin and proto-pectin of Egan 1 were relatively high.Relationships between changes in concentrations of two forms of Ca and two forms of pectin in the ovary (fruitlet) and spring-flush leaves and development of leaves and fruits were discussed.

    2006, 35(03): 16-17,15.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (674KB) ( )
Sugar accumulation and the changes of activities of sugar-metabolizing enzymes in the flesh of Longyou Pomelo were studied during the fruit development. The results showed that the contents of 3 kinds of soluble sugar were increased at the similar rate in the fruit developing process. The sucrose was the main sugar in the mature period and the late expanding period. In the process of sugar accumulation, the activities of sucrose phosphate synthase and sucrose synthase were higher. But the activity of the invertase decreased with the sucrose accumulation.

Physiological Mechanism of Different Photosynthetic Rate in Leaves of Two Maize Strains
    SHI Man-rong
    2006, 35(03): 18-21.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (829KB) ( )
Significant differences of photosynthetic rate (Pn) in the leaves of two maize (Zea mays) strains (‘Shuang 105’ and ‘40×44’) growing in the field were observed. Compared with the strain of ‘Shuang 105’, the strain of ‘40×40’ had higher Pn, higher photo-chemical efficiency of PS Ⅱ (Fv/Fm and △F/Fm') at different development stages. Meanwhile, it had better plant height and leaf area, but it's content of chlorophyll was lower. According to the results of the experiment, ‘Shuang 105’ had higher concentration of intercellular CO2 (Ci) though it had lower stomatal conductance (Gs) and Pn. Hence, the differences in Pn between the two strains did not result from the difference in Gs, but probably from that in light reaction system.

    JIN Hong, ZHU Feng-lin
    2006, 35(03): 22-24.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (734KB) ( )
Taking strawberry (Fragaria ananassa cv.Fengxiang) as material, two kinds of photorespiration inhibitors (NaHSO3 and INH) at different concentrations were sprayed onto the leaves of strawberry during the flowering season. The results showed that NaHSO3 (100 mg/L) and INH (0.5 mg/ml) could increase the leaf area, the chlorophyll content, and the photosynthetic rate.Meanwhile, the percentage of fertile fruit, single fruit weight, content of sugar and soluble solids increased significantly after spraying NaHSO3 and INH.

    GU Yun-jie, JIANG Bo
    2006, 35(03): 25-27.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (685KB) ( )
The contents of endogenous IAA and ABA in the differentiation of adventitious root in vitro of Elaeocarpus sylvestris were studied. The results showed that the contents of endogenous IAA and ABA in plantlets in vitro treated with IBA and NAA increased before rooting, and then began to decrease when the root was observed;the ratios of IAA to ABA were 2.526 and 3.226, respectively when the calli were visible.Treated without any hormones, the content of endogenous IAA maintained low level, but the content of endogenous ABA increased constantly in root differentiation.Accordingly the ratio of IAA to ABA was under 1.211.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (973KB) ( )
It is a common phenomenon that almost all of plants have the characteristic of ecological adaptability. The environmental changes, especially environmental stresses, are the most important factors to affect the formation of the adaptability. The authors discuss the physiological, biochemical and ecological changes in the process of aquatic induction of plants. And it is suggested that artificial environment modeling methodology may be used to induce aerenchyma formation.Meanwhile, the integrated and practical technological method of aquatic induction of plants is summarized in this paper. The brilliant prospect of the methodology of aquatic induction of plants in production, life and ecology is also discussed.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (825KB) ( )
Based on the study of naturalized and semi-naturalized exotic plants on Hainan Island in recent years, 153 species of exotic plants are reported in this paper. Some invasive species not reported recent years but with extensive distribution over the Hainan Island are introduced. The composition, origin areas, life forms and harmful degree of these plants are discussed. The results are as follows.66.67% exotic species are from America, of which 96% are tropical Americas.Almost all herbaceous species from America distribute extensively and become harmful weeds in the farmfield, fruit garden, rubber tree forest and grassland in Hainan. The invasiveness and harmful degree of herbs and lianas are more serious than those of trees. Most herbs and lianas usually become monodominant communities and destroy the original ecological system of the plain and low hills.
