A survey of nine plants growing on the soil polluted by manganese mine in Daxin County, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region was carried out.The results indicated that the exceptional-high concentration of Mn was the most important limiting factor for plant growth among three metals (Mn, Zn and Ni).Pteris vittata, which roots showed good metal-enrichment of Mn and Ni, was turned out to have good tolerant ability of Mn, Zn and Ni according to the analysis in the paper.Miscanthus floridulus, Erigeron bonariensis, Polygonum lapathifolium and Erigeron canadensis were proved to have good Mn-tolerant ability.Microstegium gratum, Digitaria sanguinalis and Alocasia macrorrhiza were Zn-tolerant plants while Miscanthus floridulus and Erigeron canadensis were Ni-tolerant plants.Further researches which are of some significance to these plants will be still in process though hyperaccummulators of three heavy metals were not found in these plants.
